We almost went to Carkeek Park on our anniversary trip last weekend (the weekend we visited you guys, 7-9th). I've seen a couple caches pop up in there and it looks like a neat spot to visit. But I was looking through a book on short walks to take around Seattle and realized that one of them was a walk that I've been waiting to take all of my life, the Washington Park Arboretum Waterfront Trail. It was absolutely splendid.
But no caches! :-p I look forward to visiting Carkeek Park soon. I especially liked your picture of the shells.
